FHE = Family Home Entertainment

Sometimes, it is tough to come up with a Family Home Evening lesson that will keep everyone's attention. Actually, it is tough all the time. Last night, I decided to throw together a slide show. I happened to have a projector
that I could hook up to a laptop

since its owner (my fellow
Gospel Doctrine teacher) will be out of town next week.

The beginning of FHE was typically rowdy, especially since Andrew had dragged in his mattress to jump on. I used Picasa to throw some pictures together and turned on some music on
Media Player. It was instant engagement, and it was fun. Enjoy some of my favorites.
(I tried to share the whole slideshow album with you. If you want to see it but didn't get the link, send me your email address)

Dinner time

Andrew at dinner
 I'm blogging. About dinner time. Tonight, I made pasta sauce from scratch (thanks for the veggies, Mom and Dad), spaghetti and a yummy salad (thanks for the veggies again, Mom and Dad). I haven't made a sauce from scratch in quite a while, and I was pleased with how it turned out. The red and green bell peppers made it especially aromatic and tasty.

When it was all ready and the table was set, I asked Andrew to tell everyone that dinner was ready. Crystal stayed in bed to rest. Mathew came in for prayer, but then he left. So, Andrew and I had dinner together. Felicity came when we were about done. It was good.

Do I care that not everyone joined us for dinner? A little.
Should I insist that everyone is present when dinner begins? Probably not.

We often eat all together. Just not tonight. I figure that I did my part and provided the meal. Besides, I like to eat the leftovers the next day.
